Roanoke Photographer-70.jpg

Hi there! My name is Alexcia (you can call me Lexi) and I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Roanoke, Virginia. I was married to my handsome husband, Wes, in May of 2013 and we believe in starting our days with strong black coffee, pursuing our passions, and glorifying God with every day we are given. I have always loved a good story, whether it is in the form of a book, a song, or the photographs of a wedding day that tell of so much more. My goal for each wedding is to capture the deep meaning of singular moments that would otherwise be here then gone. Give me all the hand-written vows, sentimental first-dance songs, and romantic looks exchanged by you and your love.

I'll take all that is sweet, simple and sentimental forever.

Photography is a science and an art, the perfect marriage. It is difficult to put into words the joy I find in capturing moments in time that will last forever. Ultimately, the strong underlying passion of my heart goes deeper than photography. Deep down, my heart beats for love that endures beyond the engagement photos and wedding day to the years from now when you look back at those photographs and remember in an instant how it felt at the start - the way his eyes were full of adoration when he looked at you, the way you laughed together without a care in the world, the way you danced close in one another's arms. I want to give you a tangible way to remember those moments and then to press on, lean in, hold tight and keep going. Love is always worth that.

A few of my favorite things...

Warm Weather - You can find me outside from spring through fall, and summer is my all-time favorite. I was not made for winter (even though I was born and raised in the Midwest) and I'm super thankful that I don't currently live any further north!

Music - Whether it's Needtobreathe under the stars at Red Rocks or my husband's roots rock band (Place Called Home) at a local venue, music is my favorite. I have Spotify playing almost all the time and love finding new artists to follow.

Running - It makes me feel so alive. I started running on the back roads near my North Carolina home in high school, ran my first 5k (a color run) in college, then went on to run a 10k (my favorite race distance) before the big push (a half-marathon which I ran while I was unknowingly several weeks pregnant!)

Cooking - I literally used to hate it. I found meal planning, grocery shopping and the cooking process so incredibly stressful, but with patience and practice I have learned to love it and now see it as a new creative outlet (although I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn).

Black coffee, red wine, and a ton of water in between - I start my day with a super strong dark roast (we love Starbucks espresso blend), then hydrate like it's going out of style. I also really enjoy a good Cab Sav, Merlot or Malbec at the end of the day.
